People ask me how our family got into downhill mountain biking. Lance, Carter and Guy (known as “The Guys”) are three of my husband’s riding buddies that initially invited him on man-cations to Snowshoe. My husband was instantly hooked and within time got our kids into it. My husband got our kids a lot of lessons and sent them camp to learn mountain biking.
Then the pandemic happened. Snowshoe became our haven. We started going more and the kids would ride with my husband and his friends. It was nice because they’d have a lot of eyes on them. They got a lot of support and encouragement. My kids grew as riders. These days, they ride with “The Guys” while my husband gets stuck on work phone calls. So Lance, Carter and Guy are officially our Downhill Funcles. They spent a better part of the day with our daughter over Labor Day on the trails at Snowshoe and we are so thankful for them. ❤️
