Downhill Family First Aid

Applying an antibiotic ointment
My husband bought these giant bandaids. When you first see them, you want to bellow out, “Fee-Fi-Fo-Fum!!!.” They are huge and perfect.
After anti-biotic ointment, she placed the giant bandaid and then wrapped cling gauze (or whatever it’s called) over the giant bandaid to keep dirt out of the wound.

My daughter took a small spill yesterday. It scratched up her forearm. Conditions were very wet and muddy yesterday and she just “slipped on just a flat spot.”* Besides the scratches, her arm was swollen with a Fred Flintstone style bump. So she ended the day to get cleaned up and dress the wound and apply ice. Today she’s going out to ride but she’ll take it easy to make sure her hand and grip strength feel comfortable. Besides dressing the wound, I offered her OTC pain meds to address muscle soreness that radiates into her upper arm and neck.

*My husband suggested I add the quotes and update the post. Originally I took her description of the fall at face value. I don’t ride and…I am naive.
