Bryce Resort Overnight Trip Post #6 Driving in the Driving Rain

My youngest is knitting peacefully while the storm pounds our cars (thank you Bonfire Bookstore and Yarnery!)

I am guilty of not following my own best advice.

We got off to a late start heading home yesterday. After a couple of stops for gas, food and potty breaks, our ETA got pushed back later and later and then we ran into a severe thunderstorm. It was pretty stressful driving in the dark winding state highway under a deluge of rain with blinding flashes of lightening. We had to pull over to parking lots several times and ultimately decided to stop and sleep over at a hotel. So in the end, I did follow my own advice, but it would have been smarter to post pone the drive home one more day in the first place. I am very lucky because my spouse is super supportive of putting safety before finances. He helped with the decision to call the night. We are all looking forward to seeing him today. I feel like leaning on trusted friends, family and loved ones is something I need to add to my driving tips web page. 😍

My daughter is riding her bike while rolling her suit case into the hotel.
The bikes need a safe haven too. We rolled them in after drying them and lubing the chains.
Still lovin Hampton Inns
