Welcome to my blog. I started this blog to share my love of the Downhill Family Life. My mission is to share information, tips, stories and lore with anyone who is interested in both summer and winter downhill sports as a family. Think of me like a soccer mom or a hockey mom, except I won’t yell at you (or the ref).
The topics I want to cover include mostly the things that moms, dads and guardians are concerned with: planning, transportation, food and accommodations for families, pets, friends and relatives of people who participate in downhill mountain biking and winter sports.
We happen to be a family of 5 humans, 1 dog and 1 guinea pig and countless friends and family living in the southern region of United States east coast and so most of my knowledge and experience derives from trips to resorts in North Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. Most of my posts will be concerned with driving to local destinations but I will also share our families’ experience with flying to destinations.
I do not ride or snowboard and my skiing ability is an embarrassment to my kids. So, yea, if you are looking for tips on how to ride or ski or snowboard, I can’t help you. I also don’t care too much about gear. I leave that to my husband and kids. But I can help you with all the other things concerned with a downhill life.
Stay tuned for more.
